Monday’s general session featured a legislative forum presented by NAIFA's government relations team. Panelists highlighted legislative challenges faced and achievements made by NAIFA during the past year.
An overview was provided on health care reform, tax reform, financial services reform, state issues, the political landscape and the main street message. Panelists also encouraged members to participate in legislative efforts at the grassroots level.
September is Life Insurance Awareness Month, and members at the general session also heard stories illustrating the importance of insurance from the recipients of the 2011 realLIFEstories awards. The beneficiaries also took stage for an emotional personal account. The session served as a reminder of how important it is to help clients create strategies that protect their loved ones.
