It’s even rumored that an outgoing President Eisenhower advised the young, incoming President Kennedy on Inauguration Day that just showing up is half the job. Whatever the variation of the theme you have heard, we all know it’s true. And, we will soon have the opportunity to put that truth to the test with NAIFA’s Congressional Conference.
If you have been paying attention to the political news in the last many months, you know that our Nation is facing budget, tax and debt issues the likes of which we have not seen in our lifetime. Because these issues are so huge, the reality is that the tax advantages of permanent life insurance and annuities are being threatened as never before. In turn, this threatens two of the best tools we have for securing the financial future of clients-past, present and future.
Under our representative form of government, technically we are leaving it to the President and Congress to deal with our tax, budget and national debt issues. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to leave it up to Congress and the President to make decisions in a vacuum on permanent life insurance and annuities. I want a say.
An opportunity is on the horizon for NAIFA members to have a say. That opportunity will occur April 8-9, 2013 when NAIFA will host a Congressional Conference in Washington, DC. The specific purpose of the Conference will be to educate Members of Congress on how permanent life insurance and annuities work and the role each plays in the financial security of 75 million American families and businesses.
Congressional insiders tell us that it is crucial that Members of Congress hear the “real life stories” that only agents can recount. So, our mission is clear.
Let’s show Congress we care about our clients. Let’s show up! Register today.
