NAIFA to launch 125th anniversary celebration at conference
Insurance agents and financial advisors will discuss emerging trends and issues facing the industry, including the impact comprehensive tax reform may have on their businesses, and the role agents play in helping consumers secure long-range financial security in today’s economic environment. The conference and exhibition will be held Sept. 6-8 at the Manchester Grand Hyatt in San Diego.
The 2014 conference also will serve to kick off NAIFA’s 125th anniversary – which will be noted with events and stories told throughout the year – and close at the 2015 Career Conference and Annual Meeting in New Orleans.
“The NAIFA 2014 Career Conference will be a celebration of the old and the new: A new way to approach our business and our clients,” said NAIFA President-Elect Juli Y. McNeely, LUTCF, CFP, CLU. “In our practices, we are balancing new business requirements with the changing needs of clients every day. NAIFA is here to help our members innovate. At this conference, members will hear the latest legislative and regulatory updates and have access to professional development sessions and informative workshop presentations. NAIFA 2014 is all about colleagues and experts sharing ideas that will make a difference for each and every member as they prepare for a new year of challenges facing our industry in 2015.”
Sessions are organized under topics tailored to the different interests and needs of NAIFA members, including life insurance and annuities, multiline, health and employee benefits, financial advising and investments, and sales and marketing. On Monday, Sept. 8, the NAIFA Government Relations team will provide a briefing on the critical legislative and regulatory challenges facing the industry, including tax reform, NARAB and the Affordable Care Act.
The conference will feature Real LIFE Stories presented by LIFE Happens. Sy Sternberg, former CEO and Chairman of the Board of New York Life Insurance Company, will be presented with the industry’s highest honor as the 73rd recipient of the John Newton Russell Memorial Award. The conference also will host nearly 100 exhibitors that serve all facets of the industry.
